All About Me!
Hello, this is my fourth year at Val Vista Academy and excited for another great year. This is my third year in Kindergarten and loving the many rewards of teaching early education. Working with young children is very rewarding, watching them grow and progress daily! They come in the first day with many experiences and developmental stages and we take them on an adventure of learning right where they are and bring them along not only academically but socially and emotionally as well.
Here is a bit of my experience teaching. I taught in the Elementary schools in CA for six years before moving to AZ over 20 years ago. I had the privilege to be a stay home mom for several years and planned to go back to Elementary when my youngest was in school. When he was in preschool I had the opportunity to teach Pre K and truly found my niche, early education. I taught 4 and 5 year olds for 11 years! I moved up to Kindergarten and love working with my kindergarten team! I also coordinate our Art Masterpiece here at VVA.
I believe every child is unique and teach them accordingly. I will challenge them all and work with them along the way, giving them the reinforcement when needing to review or reteach and giving those that are ready for more that challenge to keep them growing if need enrichment.
I have three children. This has been a big year for them all. My oldest got married last August, and now lives in England with her new husband and is continuing her teaching career there. My younger daughter graduated college at CSU, Fullerton in May. She is getting married in February of 2020. My son is just finished his first years at ASU as a business/ data analytics major. I am very proud of my kids. I have been married for 27 years and my husband and I are adjusting to being so close to empty nesters :)
My newest venture is working with Student Ministry at my church, that is junior higher students! I’ve always worked with first - third so this will be an adventure, for sure!
I love to read on my Kindle, Zumba classes and Hiking! My new love is traveling. I was able to visit my daughter over the summer and see the beauty of England. I also look forward to many more Europe trips in the future to visit my daughter.
