My name is Jenise Sackett and I teach K-4th grade Special Education students. I have a wonderful para professional, Mrs. Sharma, who works with me to support specific students. My classroom is considered a resource room. A resource room is a classroom where a special education program can be delivered to a student with a disability. It is for students who have Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) and need some special instruction in an individualized or small group setting for a portion of the school day.
This will be my 5th year at Val Vista Academy. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1994. I taught resource, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and cross categorical self-contained over 11 years before my husband and I had our two girls. I was privileged to be a stay at home mom for six years before returning to teaching. When not teaching, I love to go up north. We spent a lot of time camping when my girls were young, and now have a cabin in Strawberry. It is so nice to be able to enjoy the snow in the winter and the cooler temperatures in the summer!
I look forward to working with you and your child to meet their individual needs. Please feel free to call, email or stop by my classroom.
